We are 100 days smarter!!
We made it to 100 days of Kindergarten!! We celebrated this milestone by completing some fun 100 days activities all day long: we rotated with other Kindergarten classes and discovered all kinds of cool things about the number 100; we made 100 days of school hats by painting 10 dots on 10 strips of paper; we made a 100 items museum; we ate the number 100 and 100 cookies!! (thank you to Jordan and Aidan's mom :); we took the challenge to build the tallest tower possible with 100 cups; we predicted how far 100 steps would take us from our classroom. Some of us thought 100 steps would go all the way to the other end of the hall, while others predicted we would end up at the front office. 100 steps actually took us to Mrs. Waybright's first grade class, a little farther than the front office :). Thank you all for sending 100 items with your child! Please continue to practice counting at home! We will return all the 100 items baggies by the end of the week.

Happy New Year!!
Dear parents,
Mrs. Wilson and I hope you all had a very peaceful and joyful Christmas, and we wish you a happy and healthy New Year 2015! Below is a link to all the pictures that were taken at our Winter Party in December. Thank you Mrs. Farmwald for taking these wonderful pictures! Thank you Mrs. Lahey, Mrs. Currere, Mrs. Tolliver, and Mrs. Farmwald for all your hard work to make our Winter Holiday party so fun and delicious! :) Thank you also for being so generous and thoughtful toward Mrs. Wilson and I! We truly loved and were touched by all the gifts and love we received.
We are so excited to start this new year! Please make sure your child reads and is read to everyday for at least 10 minutes. We will start the year by reviewing all our sight words; we will also start our measurement and data unit in Math and learn about Martin Luther King in Social Studies. We will also resume homework twice a week. Your child receives a Dojo point for each homework completed! As you all know, it is getting much colder outside, so please make sure your child comes to school with a warm coat everyday. We can't wait to see your children back this Tuesday, January 6th!!
Enjoy the rest of our break, and see you all soon!
Love, Mrs. Long and Mrs. Wilson-
